My daughter has taken to grabbing my iphone and taking pictures recently. I thought it would be a great idea if I made Tuesday a diptych day, featuring her work with mine.
I am not planning to set this up in any particular way. I will chose one of the photos she shoots during the week and find a way to create a collaborative piece.
It may be fun to figure out whose is whose!

Graffiti Hotel

Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward

Yesterday we all took off for Lansing to check out this old abandoned hotel that had been painted by several graffiti artists in the past week. The purpose of the project is to bring positive attention to an area of town that is undergoing a revitalization.

During a turning point in our lives, my husband (then boyfriend) and I were returning to college after after a period of "living in the real world" and actually moved a couple of miles from this hotel. We even stayed here one night during our apartment hunt.

Having no idea this was the hotel that we had read about and were on our way to check out, we were quite surprised to see that it was indeed that same place!

This hotel along with the art work are scheduled to be torn down after this weekend.

road to nowhere

I'm not sure what has happened this summer, I have been completely unmotivated. Usually I have a few projects on my agenda, which I manage to accomplish as well as fit in a bunch of fun activities and outings.

I have not been able to focus on, or complete, a couple of simple projects which I have had in mind since the beginning of the season, and these are things that I enjoy doing.

I have not been motivated to hop in the car and go to the beach, or the zoo, or even to the playground. What am I doing that is taking up my time? I'm not even sure.

Am I just stuck?
