I spent some time in my studio today, painting with my girl. I think her pieces came out better than the one I have had in progress for months. I wish I had a direction I wanted to go with it, it keeps moving along, but doesn't seem to evolve.
Today I even tried attacking it like a child would, just going for it and seeing what would happen, it wasn't bad, but not great either. It seems that regression, in a painting sense, is harder than one might think.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up

Such a great post, and a lovely blog!
still the poppies? I think about that painting of yours frequently.
Thank you, Lisa!
Meg, Ha! YES...it is driving me crazy! I hadn't worked on it since the winter. I am tempted to just gesso over it and begin again.
